Conference Logistics

You can view details about agenda, logistics and attendees via your downloaded Whova App, but this info is also accessible online http://whova.com/webapp/e/udbci_201710

The logistics section will have all the details you'll need to plan a safe and memorable trip to California including travel, accommodations, and local activities. Below is a summary to get you started.

If you have questions, email Dr. Tricia Andrade at paandrade@ucdavis.edu with BARTA/UCD 2017 in the subject line and she'll do her best to sort it out for you !

Flights

The two closest airports are Sacramento (20 minutes from Davis) and San Francisco. Be sure to make ground transport reservations ahead of time especially if you are flying into San Francisco.  Routes between San Francisco and Davis can be quite congested with traffic so travel time will vary from 1.5 hours to 3 hours.

Lodging

We have rooms held in three downtown Davis hotels offering options for every budget. The dates reserved are October 20, 21 and 22. Book your room before September to get reduced conference rates. Further details for each hotel are listed on Whova.

1. Hallmark Inn $129-139 per night

2. Best Western $95-99 per night

3. EconoLodge $75-79 per night

Davis has additional hotel and Air BnB options easily found with a Google search.

Local Transport

Davis is a friendly pedestrian and biking community with the town laid out on a grid of numeric and lettered cross streets. Bike rentals are available in several shops.

Free parking is available on campus Saturday and Sunday and while at the hotels. Downtown Davis has free two hour street parking.

We will provide a shuttle van ride from the Hallmark Inn on Saturday and Sunday to and from the conference hall and Saturday night BBQ venue. Due to time constraints, this may be a limited first come, first serve service. Stay tuned for more details.

Local Activities

Come early or extend your stay and bring loved ones. Of course, there is Napa Valley, San Francisco and Monterey nearby for exciting day trips, but you may not know there is plenty to do less than an hour from Davis.
