Ross Keller is a farrier and hoof educator, specializing in donkey and mule hoof care. He has twenty-six years of
experience in providing donkey training and hoof care. Over the last 15 years he has worked as a full-time hoof care provider and training professional. Ross has developed hoof trimming protocols and procedures specific to the donkey and regularly provides corrective and rehabilitative hoof care.
Ross is certified through the Equine Lameness Prevention Organization (E.L.P.O.) and is an instructor at ELPO’s clinics and farrier school.
In addition to teaching the technical aspects of donkey hoof care, Ross also places significant emphasis on teaching about donkey behavior, behavior modification (gentling), and appropriate handling techniques. Passionate about longears and recognizing the critical need, Ross chose to specialize in donkey and mule hoof care, which built upon his decades of donkey training experience.
Ross has presented at the Donkey Welfare Symposium, International Lameness Prevention Conference, and the Practical Hoof Care Providers conference. He conducts donkey-specific hoof care clinics in Colorado and various locations across the country.
