IAWTI and organizations providing veterinary care to working equids: 

• Rural Veterinary Experience Teaching and Services, or RVETS
• Equitarian Initiative
   

IAWTI activities in equine rescues and emergencies include:

• Developing educational materials for equine rescue and care of equids in emergencies.
• Educating Communities in disaster preparedness, including owners and animal responders.
• Training the UC Davis Student Veterinary Emergency Response Team.
• Participating in the research projects dedicated to equine health.
  • Help developing the UC Davis Large Animal Lift and other equipment for rescuing horses and other large animals.
• Maintaining animal rescue and disaster medicine endowments to provide funding for equine welfare research and disaster relief.
• Collaborating with the Center for Equine Health.
